The Ultimate Super Computer

The human brain is solving problems even when you are not consciously aware that there is a problem that needs solving. For example, the human eye has a blind spot in it. You never notice it because your brain fills that blind spot in for you (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filling-in). There are exercises that can be done to “trick” your brain into letting you see the blind spot; however, it is not easy because your brain is so good at filling in the blanks for you.

This amazing supercomputer is also attempting to “fill in” the mystery of God. The human mind is faced with a conundrum: How can God be real when I never see him do anything? The human super computer will attempt to fill the gap by pulling from other experiences and your environment to “solve” the mystery.

Father Was SO Right!

Ahh… the younger generation… They know SO much, don’t they? Those of us in the older generations really ARE clueless, aren’t we? Of course, we’ve never experienced growing up (not like they have)… We were never tweens or teens before… We were simply born old - what do we know?

Growing up, my dad taught me so much (the never ending list includes educating me about God, manners, morals, managing money, keeping house, family recipes, survival skills, social skills, how to drive, table manners, how to tie my shoes and tell time). He was the one who always came to my bedside when I had bad dreams, and he has always been there for me through every life changing event.

My Promise To God...

As some of you know, my journey started many years ago in a third grade classroom. That is when I learned that orphanages existed. Still to this day I have a hard time wrapping my mind around the concept that any red-blooded human being could willingly abandon their child… As a third grader, I made a promise to God and to myself (a lofty personal goal): that when I grew up, I was going to “fix that” (the orphanage problem, mind you).

I don’t blame you for sitting there chuckling; hey, I laugh when I tell the story, too. I mean, really… how many third graders grasp the concept of personal goals, life-time commitments and ultimately solving world problems, right? However, God spoke to me at a very early age. He touched my heart and made me realize what my calling was.
